The Berlin band Il Civetto writes songs that transport their listeners into the warm light of a southern French sunset or the mild gold of a late summer evening in the big city. With their debut album "Späti del Sol" (May 2022), the five-piece Berlin band has built up a loyal community over the last few years with their unique sound. A pop sound that incorporates elements of Latin American music and nuances of French and Portuguese. Moving lyrics that create images of longing and invite listeners to dream with great finesse. Love on ice New album, new single, new tour: "Liebe auf Eis" opens the Il Civetto year. The new single was released on August 11 and is also the title track of the Berlin band's new album, which will be released on March 15, 2024. Il Civetto will then embark on their biggest tour to date in April and May 2024, with advance sales starting on September 8, 2023. The title was suddenly just there: it was January 2023 and Il Civetto got together to work on new songs. An inspiring session developed, which all members experienced as the most fruitful in their history to date, and in which this early song idea from singer Leon Keiditsch hovered over everything like a good omen from the very beginning, which will now also be the first single from the second album of the new Il Civetto era to be released on March 15, 2024: "Love on Ice". Il Civetto's shimmering pop internationalism has always been about wanderlust, longing and the feeling of being on the move. The band's music simultaneously imagines the vibe of a balmy summer night and the hangover afterwards. With their last album "Späti del Sol", they explored every last corner of this realm of possibility, but with "Liebe auf Eis", the Berlin band goes one step further. The title can be understood as a symbolic image for everything this band is about. Euphoria and melancholy are not opposites with Il Civetto; where there is light, there is also shadow. Socially, privately, on all levels - therein lies the special magic of this group of friends. Their music is about enduring contradictions, bridging divides, overcoming social coldness in polarized times with love - "love on ice". In the wonderfully analog 16mm video for "Liebe auf Eis", Il Civetto juxtapose their melancholy with summery impressions of Berlin. It's about non-commitment and anonymity in the big city, "Beautiful world, rose-colored glasses", sings Keiditsch, "Longing behind facades, when I roam through the city / Between Capri sun and highlife." It is an unbearable lightness of being. In general, Il Civetto have become more personal on the new album, even closer to their themes. "There will be a song about my youth, another for my father and the love songs are also still shaped by my own experiences," says Keiditsch. They recorded "Liebe auf Eis" once again with producer Ralf Christian Mayer (Clueso, Mark Forster, Cro and others), who has always understood the band's vision best. "Liebe auf Eis" can be pre-ordered from September 8, the same day that advance sales for Il Civetto's biggest tour to date will start in April and May 2024. And until then, let's dance through the rest of the summer with the first single "Liebe auf Eis", which will be released on August 11!
